Joint efforts yielding better results on ground: DC Kupwara

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din said that it is because of the joint Covid mitigation efforts of administration and all stakeholders that Kupwara district is in a comfortable situation now.
He again reiterated his appeal to the people of Kupwara district to continue the use of masks and maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and other SOPs to overcome the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DC was addressing media persons here in his office chamber, today.
Giving details, he said that the positivity rate has declined to 0.29 percent, while, Recovery rate has gone up to 98.4 percent which is a good sign of satisfaction for the district.
He said the district has currently 66 active cases, adding that only 15 patients are admitted in hospitals and 51 are under home isolation.
Regarding vaccination, the DC said that 73 percent of the target population of above 45 years of age has been vaccinated till date.
The DC appealed to the people to adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour and other SOPs during the upcoming festival of Eid.
SSP Kupwara, G. V. Sundeep; SP Handwara, Sandeep Gupta and Nodal Officer Covid, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh were present on the occasion.
