SRINAGAR: Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof. Dil Mohd Makhdoomi visited KVK Bandipora on Monday to take stock of the activities presently going on at the Kendra.
He was accompanied by Dr. Amal Saxena, Associate Director (KVKs).
On his arrival Director Extension interacted with the scientific staff of the Kendra where in Dr. Tariq Sultan, SMS Agronomy presented a brief about the activities being carried out by the Kendra. Among other activities, a visit to the Rice seed production block at the Kendra was also arranged and Director Extension was appraised about foundation seed production of Shalimar Rice-4 being carried out on an area of 5 Hectare.
The Director Extension made his visit to the Dairy Demonstration unit and vegetable demonstration units of the Kendra and stressed upon the identification and establishment of those units/enterprises which are profitable at the Kendra and stressed to highlight the achievements of the Kendra through print, electronic and social media.
Prof. Makhdoomi made his visit to one of the progressive farmer and vegetable growers of the Kendra namely Azad Ahmad Bhat of Watapora, Bandipora and appreciated the role of the Kendra in guiding the farmer for adopting innovative technologies/practices to augment his income.
