CAB crucial to avert looming threat of 3rd wave of Covid-19: DC B’gam

Says Recovery rate of Covid-19 positive patients is 99.8%in the district

BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today stressed that strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) is crucial to avert the looming threat of 3rd wave of Covid-19 Pandemic in the district.
The DC said this while presenting an overall situation of Covid-19 in the district since last week during a press briefing here.
Giving details about the vaccination of the target groups, the DC said that the district Budgam has successfully achieved 100 percent vaccination target of 45 and above age group. With regard to the vaccination status of the 18 to 44 years category, he said that the district administration is expecting to cover 50 percent of the target within one month, he added.
He said that the efforts are on to pace up the process of vaccination with more impetus.
Regarding the number of active positive cases in the district, the DC said that presently there are only 132 active positive cases across the district and the positivity rate is below 0.3 percent.
The DC emphasized upon massive participation in vaccination drives to stop spread of Covid-19 pandemic. Since the festival of Eid ul Azha is nearing, there will be much more intensified vaccination drives for service providers in markets, the DC said.
The DC once again appealed to all to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior, all mandated COVID-19 SOPs and avoid unnecessary gatherings particularly in congested places.
