NC pays tribute to late Ghulam Nabi Mir on sixth death anniversary

PAMPORE: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference paid tributes to late former party leader Ghulam Nabi Mir on his sixth death anniversary here in Pampore town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Mir was former President of Pulwama District for NC who hailed from Frestabal area of Pampore.
A meeting was held to commemorate the day at Frestabal Pampore in which a number of party workers from Pampore constituency participated.
While paying tributes to the late leader telephonically, NC party president Dr Farooq Abdullah recalled Mir as an honest and loyal worker of the National Conference.
“Mir Sahab would go to any extent in helping his people,” he said.
Omar Abdullah and Ali Mohmed Sagar remembered Mir as a great asset to the NC party.
The NC top leaders recalled some of his great qualities and said that it is very difficult to find a great leader like him these days .
On this occasion, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Chairman Municipal Committee, Awantipora, while addressing the meeting, recalled that the late Mir was always at the forefront in the service of the people. “Mir Sahib would go to this worker’s house at night without any hesitation and console them,” he said.
Addressing the meeting, Mohammad Shafi Mir, son of late Ghulam Nabi Lone said that his father was a mass leader who belonged to the people.
“He used to work for the welfare of the people.
Mir Sahib had always been at the forefront for strengthening the organization,” he said, adding that a sufficient number of party workers participated in the meeting which was held to observe his sixth death anniversary.
He added Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Ali Mohammad Sagar addressed the meeting telephonically and paid rich tributes to late Ghulam Nabi Mir.
At the end of the meeting, a prayer was organized.
