CAB, vaccination essential to keep Covid-19 at bay: DC Kupwara

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today reiterated his appeal to the people to continue the use of mask and maintenance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and other SOPs to overcome the resurgence of Covid.
The DC was addressing a presser here in his office chamber. He expressed his gratitude to the people of district Kupwara for implementation of Covid appropriate behaviour religiously.
He again appealed to the people not to lower the guard against the Covid pandemic.
Giving details about the current Covid scenario in the district, the DC said positivity rate has declined to 0.5 percent, while, Recovery rate has gone up to 98 percent which is a good sign of satisfaction for the district. He said the district has currently 161 active cases.
Regarding vaccination, he said that 69.35 percent of the target population of above 45 years has been vaccinated till date. While 17.80 percent of 18-44 year aged people have been vaccinated so far in the district. He said the only way to keep the Covid at bay is to follow the Covid appropriate behaviour and vaccinate yourself.
The DC also informed that OPD services have been resumed in Covid Hospital Kupwara so that people are facilitated.
Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, Kauser Amin and Nodal Officer Covid, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh were present at the occasion.
