SDRF team rescues youth from Chenab River

JAMMU: A team of SDRF today rescued a youth when he slipped into River Chenab and was about to drown.
The SDRF team was on a mission to search and rescue another man who reportedly went missing yesterday near the Chenab River.
On June 30, information was received from PCR Jammu that a person has drowned in River Chenab near Jio Potha Ghat Akhnoor.
After receiving information, SDRF team stationed at Akhnoor was deputed to the spot but due to darkness rescue operation could not be completed.
Today, a ten member SDRF team under the supervision of ASI Mohammad Sadiq No 742 was deputed on the same spot from Bn. Hqrs for launching search and rescue operation in the River Chenab.
During the search and rescue operation in the river Chinab, SDRF team spotted one person is drowning and crying for help near Nav Mandir area of Jio Potha Ghat, Akhnoor.
SDRF personnel Sgct. Surjeet Singh, VHG, Daljeet Singh, VHG, Daleep Kumar present on the spot immediately jump in the river and rescued the drowning person Anku, age 26 year S/o Jatinder Kumar, R/o Rashim Ghar Colony Jammu.
Further, the search and rescue operation for the person who drowned on June 30 is going on till date.
