MC Pampore employees stage protest demanding release of pending salary

Pampore, June 29: Dozens of employees of Municipal Committee Pampore (MCP) on Tuesday staged a protest here demanding salaries pending from the past two months.
Dozens of employees including lower grade ones from Municipal Committee Pampore staged a protest here in premises of Municipal Committee Pampore. They were demanding release of pending salary.
The employees informed Kashmir Reader that their salaries remained unpaid as the post of PAO felt vacant after his retirement.
“The Pay and Accounts Officer(PAO) retired on 31st of May of 2021 but did not sign the salary bills and the salary remains unpaid for May and June,” the employees said, adding that non payment of salaries affected employees from six Municipal Committees including Pampore, Khrew, Awantipora, Tral and Pulwama, Zameer Ahmad employee of MC Pampore said.
Senior Trade leader Union Leader (EJAC), Manzoor Ahmad Pampori appealed to authorities including LG, Finance Commissioner, Commissioner Secretary Housing, Director Urban Local Bodies for filling the vacant post or depute someone take the charge.
” We are front line COVID warriors doing our best to contain this infectious disease. The non -payment of salaries is hitting us hard. We hope our salaries are released before Eid so that we can celebrate the festival,” he told Kashmir Reader.
