Srinagar: Budgam Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme (CAP) distributed wheelchairs and other mobility equipment among specially-abled persons at District Police Office Budgam. The event was organized while following Covid-19 SOPs and other protocols.
On the occasion, SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Saleem-JKPS held the distribution function, besides DySP Hqrs Budgam and other officers/officials were also present. During the event, wheelchairs and other mobility aids and equipment were distributed among 26 specially abled persons hailing from below poverty line families of district Budgam.
While interacting with the beneficiaries, SSP Budgam expressed the hope that the assistance provided by the Police to the specially-abled persons may help them to become self-reliant. He also assured them of all support from the police department and will facilitate them to achieve their goals. He also asked the beneficiaries not to allow their physical infirmities to come in their way and stay active in their lives to achieve their desirable objectives. He also advised the police officers and jawans to show empathy and kindness towards such segments of society and come forward with helping hand to make them feel part and parcel of the society.
The participants have expressed their gratitude for this gesture by the Police.
