ADC Awantipora asks to ramp up testing, vaccination

Pampore: Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl on Tuesday held a meeting with health officials and Revenue officials from Pampore, Awantipora and Kakapora Tehsil at Townhall Pampore regarding COVID testing and vaccination.
Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, Nodal officer for COVID control in Pampore, told Kashmir Reader that it was decided to speed up sampling and vaccination.
“It was conveyed in the meeting that people above the 45 age group should be vaccinated within a week,” he said, adding that they need to vaccinate 10 thousand people in the 45 plus age group.
He also said that they were instructed to check vaccination certificates and samples from shopkeepers before allowing them to open shops.
“The meeting was on COVID related testing and vaccination, it was decided in the meeting to achieve 100 per cent vaccination in 45 plus age group,” ADC Awantipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, told Kashmir Reader, adding that the identified left over persons who are reluctant to have vaccination.
“We have devised a strategy to bring these people under vaccination through motivation and raising awareness so that the 100 per cent target is achieved,” he said.
He also appealed to the media to play its role in mitigating misinformation and rumours that cause hesitation for vaccination among people.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Pulwama Dr Dilshada, Dy Chief Medical Officer Dr Tehmeena, Nodal Officer for COVID-19 Pulwama Aflaq Ahmad, Block Medical Officer Pampore Dr Asma Nazir, Registerd Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Naib Tehsildar Pampore Mohammad Ameen, Naib Tehsildar Khrew Bashir Ahmad, Tehsildar Awaintipora Mohammad Altaf, Tehsildar Kakpora Ashiq Ahmad, Project Officer ICDS Pampore, Revenue official Pampore Mir Murawat Hussain and other health workers.
