BARAMULLA: Police on Sunday said that they seized large quantities of illicit timber in Rafiabad area of Baramulla under police district Sopore.
Police said that after received an information through reliable sources regarding smuggling of illicit timber in Katirdaji area of upper Rafiabad and team of police station Dangiwacha headed by SHO Imtiyaz Ahmad under the close supervision of SDPO RafiabadNissar Ahmad rushed to the spot and recovered 11 logs of illicit timber from the village, they said that Abdul Jabar Mir son of Muhammad Abdullah, Abdul Rashid Parray son of Muhammad Subhan, Gulzar Ahmad son of Muhammad Subhan and Wali Muhammad son of Muhammad Abdullah all the residents of Kitardaji are involved in the commission of crime and they fled away.
In this connection case FIR No. 108/2021 under section 379 IPC and 6 Forest Act has been registered at police station Dangiwacha and manhunt has been registered against all four accused persons.
Three days ago also timber cut illegally was seized by the same police station in Dalri village.
