JAKFA congratulates Dr Arun Kumar Mehta on his appointment as new Chief Secretary of JK

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Finance and Accounts Society (JAKFA) welcomed the decision of J&K Government for appointing Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, as Chief Secretary.
JAKFA while congratulating Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, showering praise on him for his past service and said that he has ensuring 100 % transparency in financial transactions with online monitoring and enforcing fiscal discipline in the Union Territory and also has introduced several path-breaking reforms in the financial sector during his tenure as Financial Commissioner (Finance).
The JAKFA president, Rafiq Ahmad said, that Dr Mehta is a great reformer
and leader who has made a strong contribution to fiscal reforms of J&K. Under his dynamic leadership, the Finance Department has witnessed a plethora of
initiatives like introduction of JKPaySys, streamlining of GST, implementation of e-stamping & e-Gas, e-auction of Liquor licences for retail outlets, digital payments, implementation of GEM, path-breaking reforms in J&K Bank, publication of important manuals relating to Budget and Audit, JAKFA said in its congratulatory mesage.
JAKFA said that it is a matter of pride that the financial systems in Union Territory of J&K are one of the most transparent systems than anywhere else .
He has also been instrumental in bringing the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) at its present stature, which ensured fast track completion of several developmental projects that were languishing since decades.
Again while praying Dr Mehta, President, JAKFA said that his integrity and a better grasp of administrative affairs with a focus on proper coordination among the departments will definitely achieve better outcomes in governance.
Meanwhile, the entire JAKFA expressed their optimism that under new Chief Secretary’s able leadership J&K will flourish to new heights.
“We are highly thankful for his contributions towards our Fraternity in the Finance Department. Our best wishes are with him and we pray that UT shall usher in an era of peace, prosperity and progress under his dynamic leadership and justice shall also prevail in the administrative system”, Accounts Society said.
