Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam pays tribute to former chairman Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Farooq

Srinagar: Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam while remembering its former chairman Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq on his 31st martyrdom anniversary paid glowing tribute to him for his selfless and invaluable contribution towards the institution saying the late Mirwaiz’s vision of taking forward the educational mission of Anjuman was praiseworthy.
While hailing the Shaheed-e-Millat for undertaking educational and welfare measures, the Anjuman said his role in spreading education across Kashmir was immense.
It was a long cherished dream of the late Mirwaiz to see Kashmiri youth especially the daughters of the nation being educated as Islam stresses upon pursuing education and acquiring knowledge for both genders, the Anjuman said in a statement, adding that the late leader strived for this cause all his life.
Shaheed-e-Millat’s efforts to ensure smooth functioning of all the institutions run by the Anjuman and to operate them as per the modern educational standards were unforgettable.
As per the statement, the annual functions and events which include seminars, symposiums and interactions, to commemorate the anniversary of Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA) stand cancelled this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, lockdown and the nearly two-year-long house detention of Anjuman chairman Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq.
Meanwhile, the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam has called upon the teachers and students of all the institutions run by it to ma Masjid has appealed to people to pray to Almighty Allah to grant the humanity refuge from the deadly outbreak of coronavirus.
