Masoodi releases Rs 1.7 crore for strengthening health infrastructure in south Kashmir

PAMPORE: Member Parliament for Anantnag constituency and senior leader of National Conference, Justice retired Hasnain Masoodi released rupees 1.70 crore from MPLAD funds for strengthening covid related health infrastructure.
The announcement was made by him after taking an extensive tour of the four southern districts, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama.
“During the tour I interacted with district administration and health authorities to see what is being done to contain COVID 19 and what needs to be done,” Masoodi told Kashmir Reader, adding the main motive was to find out how efforts of local administration can be strengthened.
Adding that he held interactions with Deputy Commissioner Shopian, CMO Shopian and medical superintendent of District Hospital Shopian, i was told that 290 COVID beds are available and 97 percent population of people above 45 age have been vaccinated,” he said, adding that he also held meeting with Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and was informed that similar work is being done in Pulwama.
The Member Parliament Hansnain Masoodi informed Kashmir Reader that rupees 25 lakh from MPLAD was granted to Anantnag for construction of an ICU ward for COVID patients.
” Rupees 15 lakh each were released for Kulgam and Shopian for purchase of critical care ambulances, rupees 15 lakh for Pulwama for construction of 200 bedded covid hospital,” he said.
The Member Parliament told Kashmir Reader that for construction of an oxygen plant at PHC Awantipora, sanction for rupees 1 crore has been granted by him.
” I was told that for Oxygen refilling health functionaries have to travel to Khanmoh and Srinagar which causes wastage of time and impedes pace of treatment so it was decided that an oxygen plant will be constructed at Awantipora, a central place, from where all for districts can avail oxygen refilling facility,” he told, adding that for the construction of the plant rupees 1 crore
