Rainy weather expected till Sunday: MeT

Srinagar: Light rains were received in parts of the Valley on Tuesday with weatherman predicting rainy weather in Jammu and Kashmir this week.
The weatherman said that “erratic weather” conditions were expected to remain prevalent till Sunday.
Rains and winds which lasted for a brief time lashed Srinagar and other parts of the Valley.
The MeT Centre Srinagar also issued “Yellow Warning” till Sunday denoting that there was the possibility of isolated lightning, thunderstorm and gusty winds blowing at the rate of 30-40 KMPH.
Deputy Director MeT Centre Dr Mukhtar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that light rains will occur till Friday.
“Weather will remain erratic for the next few days till Sunday. And intensity of rains will last till Friday after which there will be a decrease in precipitation. Overall till Sunday, the weather will remain largely erratic and rainy. Mostly the rains will be witnessed in the afternoon along with occasional breaks in the day,” he said.
Meanwhile, vehicular traffic on the Srinagar to Jammu National Highway will remain suspended today. Traffic police authorities said that no vehicular movement shall be allowed on either side of highway between Nashree and Jawahar Tunnel on Wednesday owing to the maintenance and repairing of the road.
