2 more areas declared micro containment zone in Lethpora Pampore

Pampore: Administration on Tuesday declared two more micro containment zones at Lethpora village in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A team of officials from revenue department and health department led by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din visited Lethpora village and declared two more area of Pampore Tehsil as micro containment zones in view of detection of fresh Covid-19 cases.
Rice Mill mohalla and Tengreshi mohalla of Lethpora village of Pampore Tehsil have been declared as micro containment zones.
The team members installed banners in two places and warning people not to enter the micro containment zones.
The decision was taken after many cases were active in the area, officials told Kashmir Reader.
” Two localities of Lethpora, Rice Mill Mohalla and Tengreshi Mohalla have been declared as micro containment zones, positive cases were detected through out Lethpora village but in these two localities the density of positive cases is very high so they have been declared as micro containment zones as per orders of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama,” Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, appealing people to follow SOP’s.
7 micro containment zones were already declared in Pampore town and with these two new zones the number rose to 9 in the entire Tehsil.
Spike in Covid-19 cases continued in Pampore Medical Block continued on Tuesday as the number of cases detected positive.
Registered Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Ashraf told Kashmir Reader that about 128 more positive cases were detected through RAT and RTPCR in which 43 persons were tested through RTPCR and 85 were tested by Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) in Pampore medical block.
He said that the increase in the number of cases was due to increase in the number of tests being carried.
