53 Covid-19 cases detected in Pampore Medical Block

Pampore: Fifty three patients tested positive in Pampore Medical Block on Friday in which 18 persons were tested through RTPCR and 35 were tested by Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
Block Medical Officer Dr Gulzar Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that 53 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Pampore medical block. The BMO said that samples of many persons were collected at Sub District Hospital Pampore on Friday.
He said that there were 192 active cases in the medical block.
He told Kashmir Reader that they have nominated five places as containment zones.
The four containment zones were declared last week in New Colony, Wani Mohalla, Hamdaniya Mohalla in Kadlabal area and Meebagh Namblabal areas of Pampore.
“one more mini containment zone in Dussoo village of Pampore was notified taking the number to five where nine persons from the same family tested positive,” he said, adding that the containment zones might increase if people do not follow SOPs.
He stressed that Coronavirus positive patients must remain confined to their homes so that they do not become carriers of the disease and cause nuisance to general public.
He also directed the patients visiting Pampore Sub district Hospital to follow SOPs and maintain social distance.
He further requested people to think about themselves and others so that the disease do not spread at a rapid pace and could be contained at the earliest.
Pampore medical block has witnessed 153 cases in past three days including on Friday.
