HAS demands release of Grant-in-Aid to literary bodies

Hajin: After the election of a new body of office bearers and selection of a new team of executives of Halq e Adab Sonawari, the maiden meeting of the working committee of Halq e Adab Sonawari was held at HAS office here.
A resolution was passed wherein members appealed to the UT Government to release important Grant-in-Aid to the cultural and literary organisations of the J&K.
A number of important decisions were taken in the meeting. In addition to many important organizational decisions, a blueprint for literary and cultural works in the coming year was also presented at the meeting.
The participants discussed and impressed upon to make HAS a vibrant research institute. It was unanimously decided that the process of assigning the same to the young researchers of the area shall kick started on Yom i Mohi ud Din Hajini (Hajini Day) which is observed by HAS on 20th June every year.
Moreover, a series of meetings with senior writers and poets of the area will be started under the ‘Katha Batha’ series.
Various competitions will be held for school children in the months of July and August.
Extension lectures will be organized in Sopore, Hajin, Sumbal and Bandipora Degree Colleges.
Ahsan Day will be held in September while the annual function will be held on Abdul Khaliq Butt Ghayyur in the month of October. workshops on poetry and fiction will also be organised.
In important decisions it was also decided that Halq e Adab would set up its own website for which a four member committee was formed. All the members of the working committee attended the meeting.
