Two OGW’s held in Baramulla, arms recovered: police

Baramulla: Police in Baramulla claimed that they arrested two over ground workers (OGW’s) and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
In a statement police said that, on Sunday police station Kreeri received an information from reliable sources that Bashir Ahmed Bhat son of Gulam Mohammad Bhat of Mirangund Kreeri and Waseem Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir of Authoora Kreeri are instigating and motivating youth of the Kreeri area to join the militant ranks for increasing the militant activities.
Adding that the persons have managed to procure some grenades and other arms and ammunition. They said that the duo were nabbed during a search operation and two Chinese hand grenades and 20 AK 47 rounds were recovered from their possession.
However, police did not confirm the organisation these persons worked.
Police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered against the duo and further investigation is on.
