GDC Pulwama enters semi- final

SRINAGAR: Government Degree College Pulwama Kashmir became the third team to enter the semi finals with 19 run win over Gandhi Memorial College in the third quarter final of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket tournament on Thursday at Islamia College ground.
After winning the toss Pulwama captain decided to bat first and the team despite losing early wickets scored 143 runsin 23.4 overs.
Shahid Farooq with 37 runs in 25 balls and Sajad Ahmed 24 in 23 balls were the top scorers. Siman Farooq took four wickets, Umar and Sameer took two wickets each for Gandhi College.
Chasing a target of 144 runs in 25 allotted overs Gandhi College lost early wickets and were shunted out for 124 runs in 21.2 over’s . Musavir (29) and Sameer (22) were as main contributors to the scoreboard.
For Pulwama College Zahid Malik took three wickets and Sajad bagged two wickets. Shahid Farooq of Pulwama College was adjudged the man of the match. On Friday GDC Anantnag will clash with GDC Bijbihara in the last quarter finals of the tournament.
The tournament is being organized by department of physical education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce in memory of ex principal of the college Prof Mohammed Yousuf.
