JKHCBA pays rich tributes to Jalil Andrabi on 25th anniversary

Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar held Lawyers meeting to pay homage and tributes to Shaheed Jalil Andrabi on his 25th martyrdom anniversary at Sadar court Complex Srinagar.
On this occasion in addition to others convener Advocate NA Ronga Advocates GN Shaheen, M Amin Bhat ,Arshad Andrabi, Professor Noor Bilal, M Ashraf Bhat , Ashraf Wani, NoorulAmin,AA Teli, Hilal Noorani and Binti Muslim specking on the occasion paid rich tributes to Shaheed Jaleel Andrabi and described him a true legend to follow. He was a friend, philosopher and a guide who sacrificed his life for the cause of the people .The speakers throwing light on the current situation in Jammu &Kashmir on both sides of the ceasefire line welcomed the ceasefire on LOC in JK and said it is a step forward in right direction but not sufficient. The Governments of India &Pakistan should allow cross LOC trade and travel. Both governments should facilitate inter community and intra Kashmir dialogue on both sides of the LoC to have collective understanding of the socio political and economic aspirations and approaches towards a way forward to seek a permanent and amicable solution of the Kashmir issue. The statement added that status quo is not a solution to the Kashmir issue. but in fact it is a problem in itself neither Abrogation of Art 370 nor mere restoration of statehood is a solution to the world’s most contentious issue which has the inherent potential to disturb the regional and global peace and security.
India &Pakistan should take concrete steps to involve the people of J & K in finding the solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and legitimate aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir on both sides of the LOC.
G N Shaheen mooted a proposal that a designate lawyers delegation should be allowed to visit Delhi & Islamabad to begin with the peace process Which delegation shall interact with the cross sections of the people.
