GDC Anantnag register one wicket win over GDC Tangmarg

SRINAGAR: GDC Anantnag register one wicket win over GDC Tangmarg in the Prof Yousuf Memorial cricket tournament match played at Islamia College ground here on Friday.
After winning the toss the GDC Tangmarg skipper decided to bat first and put a decent total 126 runs only in their allotted 25 overs .
Tanvir Ahmad who scored unbeaten 37 runs middle order batsman Saleem Reshi also contributed 24 runs.
For Anantnag College Faizan was the most successful bowler taking threee wickets and Owais and Ishfaq bagged two wickets each.
Chasing 127 runs Anantnag lost wickets in quick sucession but r Oman’s 32 and Junaid’s 22 runs studied the innings at crucial junctures took them over the line by just one wicket.
For Tangmarg Syed Sajad shined with ball taking five wickets and Saleem bagged three wickets. Syed Sajad of Tangmarag was adjudged the man of the match.Today host Islamia College will take on GDC Magam followed by Gandhi Memorial College versus GDC Handwara match on Sunday.
The tournament is being organised by Department of Physical Education Islamia College in memory of ex principal of the college Late Prof Mohammed Yousuf.
