PAMPORE: Police Pampore on Thursday arrested a drug peddler in Pampore and recovered charas from his possession.
Acting tough against the drug peddlers, Awantipora Police arrested one more drug peddler and recovered 55 grams charas from his possession, police said.
Police party of police station Pampore led by SHO Pampore Mohammad Younis Khan on naka duty arrested one drug peddler when the arrested person was moving in a suspicious circumstances at Muslim Education Institute School crossing, Namblabal Pampore, police officer told Kashmir Reader.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Ayoub Akhoon son of Bashir Ahmad Akhoon , resident of Tulbagh Pampore.
55 grams of charas was recovered from the possession of arrested persons, he said.
In this regard, a case vide FIR number 37/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
