Persian graduates demand introduction of the language from the elementary level

SRINAGAR: The graduates of Persian language on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar asking the higher authorities to introduce the persian subject at elementary, school, colleges and universities.
Scores of the persian degree holders and scholars including boys and girls assembled here in press enclave under the banner of all Jammu and Kashmir Persian Scholars Association. The protestors were holding placards and banners in their hands which reads “save persian save heritage”, ” persian the language of peace”, “we want justice” and “Save persian save future”.
Quasar jaffari, one of the PhD Persian scholar said the persian language has played a very important role in the Kashmir valley in terms of documenting the history of the place.
“Despite the government is introducing the new subjects in colleges, Persian has been at bay. The government has neglected the persian language which have promoted the culture of the Jammu and Kashmir in other countries, ” He said.
Jaffari said that persian language have also remained the official language of the Jammu and Kashmir. The persian will also helps the youths to get the jobs in other countries where persian language is spoken by the people.
“The youths who have completed their degrees in the persian language are not getting any kind of employment in the higher secondary schools and colleges. Because this subject have not introduced yet in the schools and colleges, ” He said.
” We are demanding the higher authorities of the Governor administration for the introducing the persian subject in all higher secondary schools, colleges and universities,” Jaffari added.
The protesting degree holders and scholars have requested the Lieutenant Governor Manoj sinha and higher authorities of the education department to look into the matter for introducing of the persian in all educational institutions of the Jammu and Kashmir.
