MC B’pora realises Rs 12.1k fine from erring traders

BANDIPORA: A market checking squad of Municipal Council Bandipora today realized a fine of Rs 12,100 from erring shopkeepers in the district.
Taking strong note of the complaints, the district administration launched a massive district-wide inspection drive to curb over pricing and take immediate action against instances of violations.
The team led by Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Bandipora conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable, fruit sellers, poultry, mutton sellers, Kiryana, Bakery, LPG distributors and fuel distributors.
During the inspection, many traders were booked under different laws for violation and a fine was imposed on erring traders, besides removing encroachment on paths by various businesses establishments.
On the occasion, officers stressed on the traders to follow the rules in letter and spirit and also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other Metrology Acts.
