KULGAM: The Handicrafts Department Kulgam today organized daylong artisan awareness cum registration camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Assistant Director Handicraft/ Handloom Kulgam, Muqbil Lateef Hussain.
On the occasion, the Assistant Director Handicrafts and Handloom said that the objective of organising the camp was to make artisans aware of various welfare programmes and schemes of the department.
He appealed to the artisan fraternity to come forward and get themselves registered with the department so that they can avail the benefits without any difficulty for their overall socio-economic development.
During the event the officers apprised the participants about the schemes available with the department for their welfare besides registration process, Registration Cards, registration and working of Cooperative Society, Artisan Credit Cards and other related schemes
Among others, the programme was attended by LDM, Assistant Handicrafts Training Officers besides Representatives from JKEDI, RDD and banks.
Later registration cards and Industrial Cooperative society certificates were distributed among the registered artisans and recently registered Cooperative Societies.
Further on spot registration of artisans was also carried out on the occasion.
