BJP’s Altaf Thakur inaugurates Khelo-India cricket tournament in Sail, Tral

Tral: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur on Wednesday inaugurated Khelo-India cricket tournament at Sail village of Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
While talking to the media he said that Khelo-India will help the youth of Kashmir to remain fit and healthy .
“Sports activities will channelise energy of valley youth in a positive direction,” he said.
While interacting with players of various teams participating in the event, he urged them to focus on sports and informed them about various social evils.
He urged youngsters to play their role in fighting various social evils like drug abuse.
“The simple message this Khelo India initiative sends across is that youth should be physically fit. When youth of valley take part in sports activities only then they will achieve physical fitness and it will ensure fitness of our country,” Thakur said, adding that sports is one among the three sectors that are a priority for the Jammu and Kashmir government. He said that the government is focused to involve youth of the valley in sports activities.
“The sports infrastructure is being upgraded,” he said.
Youth participating in the cricket tournament thanked Thakur for distributing sports kits and mementos among them.
