BHT diploma holders hold protest, demand revocation of order withdrawing announced posts

SRINAGAR: The unemployed youths who have completed their diploma in Basic Horticulture training (BHT) from the SKUAST University on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the government to revoke the withdrawal order of 211 posts of horticulture Technicians Grade IV which was announced by them..
Scores of unemployed youths including boys and girls assembled here in press enclave holding placards and banners in their hands which reads ” we want justice”, ” don’t sntach our right”, ” revoke withdrawal order”, “unemployed horticulture trainees”, “save our future” and “don’t spoil our future”.
The protesting unemployed horticulture trainees said that on 3rd February this month the Service selection Board (SSB) has issued the notification for the various posts. Under this notification, the criteria for the horticulture technician Grade IV posts was given 10 + 2 and one year diploma in basic horticulture training. However the government has withdrawn these 211 posts.
Afreen Hussain Shah, one of the unemployed youth said that we have completed one year diploma in BHT from the SKUAST University. However B.S.C, and M.S.C horticulture Graduates have started protesting and they are demanding the government to change criteria for these posts.
” After the government has withdrawn horticulture technician IV posts. We are not able to apply for it. We are now demanding the government to open the link for horticulture technician posts. So we can apply for the posts in the service selection board “, shah said.
The protesting unemployed youths requested Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter for the revocation of withdrawal order.
