Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam commemorates 112th anniversary of Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA)

Srinagar: The 112th passing away anniversary of Jammu & Kashmir’s leading religious figure, spiritual leader and founder of Anjuman Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA) was observed with utmost devotion and reverence.
While a grand function is could not be held in view of the closure of educational institutions run by Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam due to COVID-19 and the continuous house arrest of its Chairman Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, however, a Dua-e-Majlis was organised by Islamia Oriental College wherein prayers were offered for the Late Mirwaiz (RA).
Recalling the invaluable services of Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA), who was known as Sir Syed of Kashmir, the Anjuman paid glorious tributes to him for his contribution towards the nation of Kashmir on social, religious, educational, welfare and dawah fronts.
“The contribution of Allama Rasool Shah (RA) in lifting the nation out of illiteracy, poverty and oppression is a glorious and unforgettable chapter in the contemporary history of Kashmir,” Anjuman said in a statement.
Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA) by laying the foundation of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam led the Kashmiri nation towards light from darkness and his efforts brought out educational renaissance here the results of which are obvious today, the statement said.
Laying the foundation of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam in Jammu & Kashmir one-and-a-half century ago, the untiring efforts and campaign of Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA) in spreading education in far flung areas of Valley will be written in golden letters.
Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam continues to offer education to children belonging to poor and backward sections, working for their upliftment by providing them quality education
The Late Mirwaiz (RA) not only contributed towards promotion of education in J&K but also strived for the social upliftment and betterment of the people, the Anjuman said, adding that the history of Kashmir is incomplete without the mention of the Mirwaiz Rasool Shah (RA).
