Himayat offers huge opportunities to youth of JK: Advisor Baseer Khan

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today said that Himayat programme has opened up huge opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by showing them new ways to forge ahead with confidence.
Advisor made these remarks while presiding over the Campus hiring organised by Himayat Mission Management Unit (HMMU), Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) and Apollo Medskills Limited at Jammu in which around 114 candidates were presented appointments with six different companies in various parts of the country.
While handing over offer letters to the selected candidates, Advisor said that by such a unique placement linked skill development and enhancing programme in place, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are being provided with a platform through which they are now forging ahead by getting employment.
About six companies including Apex Kidney Care, BVG India, Samarth Kidney Centre, Apollo Health and Research Foundation, 7 Med India and Deep Chand Dialysis Centre participated in the Job fair. Nearly, 299 candidates trained under Himayat in Dialysis Technician and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Trade in Health sector appeared and 114 candidates have been selected by the companies with openings across different parts of the country.
While congratulating the selected candidates, Advisor said that they should take this beginning seriously and encourage others to foray into the new era that is providing them a gainful employment.
He said that the purpose of this programme is skill development and placement and the demand for the skilled students will be tremendous particularly in the medical and other allied sectors in the coming times. He said that these programmes have been designed keeping in view the market trends and the students are being trained commensurate with their levels of education and their abilities and interests. He also emphasized the need for increasing Information, Education and Communication Campaign’s regarding the Himayat programme so that more students will be attracted towards this scheme.
Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Sheetal Nanda, while speaking on the occasion urged the selected youth to commit to placements so that other youth also come forward to secure job opportunities outside their homes for better future. She said that they should grab this opportunity and encourage others to be a part of the Himayat programme.
