Raids conducted on pesticide warehouse at Khonmoh

Found pesticides dumped with prior info to Enforcement Agency

Srinagar: Upon the instruction of Director Agriculture Kashmir (Controller of Pesticides) a team of officers headed by Joint Director Agriculture Extension inspected the Pesticide warehouse of Oswal Crop Protection Limited at Khonmoh . Upon inspection, it was found that the below mentioned quantity of Pesticides was dumped in the warehouse without intimation to the which is the gross violation of the roadmap issued by the Controller of Pesticides and agreed upon by all the operational pesticide companies in the Kashmir Division. (1) Breeza (Captan + Hexaconazol 2300 kgs (2) Combination (Tubiranazol + Captan 2830 litres (3) Boycott (Mencozeb 75% WP 4480 Kgs (4) Asardaar (Tubicanazol) 2380 litres (5) Metadow (Carbondazium + Mencozeb 4300 kgs. The products put on sale stop for a period of 20 days as per Act norms, so as to ensure pre testing before its distribution to the retailers.
Further, two products namely Osozyme fruit grannels 13800 kgs and Borohit+ 200 kgs were detained as both these products do not fall into the category of Pesticides and were unauthorizedly stored in pesticide warehouse.
