KUPWARA: In continuation to its efforts to raise awareness about road safety measures among the transport community of the district during the ongoing Road Safety Month, Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kupwara today organized a day long Fitness cum Awareness mela at General Bus Stand, here.
On the occasion, the experts of MVD and other concerned imparted training about various road safety measures among the participants. The mini bus drivers and sumo drivers were provided detailed awareness regarding fitness of vehicles and traffic rules.
Addressing the participants, the ARTO Kupwara, Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi said that the fitness mela will continue till February 19th in the district and appealed to the transporters to take advantage of the mela.
He added that various areas across the district including Handwara, Villgam and Kupwara have been covered by the department during the ongoing Road Safety programme with awareness and allied programmes.
