Lethpora suicide attack anniversery: CRPF paid tributes to colleagues at Group training centre

PULWAMA: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Sunday paid rich tributes to their colleagues who lost their lives two years ago on this day in a suicide attack on Jammu -Srinagar national highway in Lethpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A grand function was organised in this connection at joint group training centre of CRPF at Awantipora in which various officers and officials of the paramilitary force took part.
The function was organised by CRPF at CRPF training centre Lethpora, LG CRPF Deepak Ratan Kashmir ops sector, SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem and senior officers were present on the occasion.
“We pay tributes to our colleagues who were martyred two years ago in a coward militant attack. Their sacrifices give us courage to fight the terrorism with renewed vigour,” IG CRPF, Deepak Ratan told media on the sidelines of the function.
He told media that CRPF has taken measures to prevent such attacks in future.
“The CRPF has adopted new standard operating procedures, modern equipments and fresh trainings were also been included to prepare our soldiers to prevent such attacks in future,” he said
The officer also said that many technological interventions have been introduced to ensure safety of convoy on the national highway.
Around 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a car based suicide attack in Lethpora area of Pampore Tehsil on 14 February 2019.
