Gardeners working with JK Bank protest, demand regularisation, wages

SRINAGAR: The gardeners working in Jammu & Kashmir Bank on Saturday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the higher authorities of the bank to release their pending salaries and issuance of the appointment orders in their favour.
Scores of the gardeners working in the Jammu and Kashmir Bank assembled here in press enclave under the banner of Kashmir Gardeners J&K Bank Union Srinagar and chanting slogans “we want justice”, ” we want issuance of appointment orders”, and ” release our pending salary”.
The protesting gardeners said that they are working as gardeners in the Iqbal park, Badamwari park and in that Central office of the Jammu and Kashmir bank.
One of the protesting gardener working said that two years ago, when J&K bank was going to issue the appointment orders in our favour, but we cannot submit our document on proper time,after that we have submitted all the documents to the J&K bank.
” Two years have passed but our appointment order is still pending in the bank,” he said.
The protesting gardeners said that they are without salaries from the last four months,due to which they are facing the financial crisis in their homes.
“The higher authorities of the bank should issue the appointment orders in favour of those gardeners, who have completed 10 years in the bank as gardeners and release of the pending salaries,” they demanded..
The protesting gardeners requested the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank to look into the matter and issuance of the appointment orders in their favour.
