ICDS employees hold protest, seek release of honorarium

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Helpers to Supervisors Association working in the Integrated Child development Scheme (ICDS) on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the department to release their honorarium.
The protesting women from different areas of the Kashmir valley assembled here in a press enclave and chanted slogans “we want justice” and “ we want our pending honorarium’’.
One of the protesting women said we are working in the ICDS department upon the posts of Helpers to supervisors and are without honorarium from the last 30 months.
“We are working in different ICDS projects of the different districts of Kashmir valley and are performing the duties
regularly in the department, but unfortunately our honorarium is still pending in the department,” She said.
“ We have already approached the concerned official from time to time, but unfortunately nothing has been done at ground levels,” She said.
The protesting women have requested Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter and release them of their honorarium.
