SRINAGAR: Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation Mr Gazanfar Ali Friday conducted surprise visits in various bakery shops , food establishments to check the rate lists of various food items including mutton and chicken.
He also visited many food joints including bakery shops and other confectionery in various areas including Lal Chowk, Poloview, Rainawari, Khanyar etc to check the hygiene and quality of food to be prepared and served to the public.
On the occasion Ali has passed on directions to many food establishments and bakery shops for maintaining proper standards of hygiene and also asked food handlers to wear proper head gears and take other necessary measures while handling and serving food to people.
He said those bakery shops or food outlets who fail to comply with the directions shall have to face severe action under law.
Meanwhile the enforcement team on the directions of Commissioner SMC promptly removed huge icicles that were unsafely hanging under the flyover from Jehangir Chowk Rambagh for the safety of general public.
