Baramulla: A huge traffic jam witnessed on Srinagar Baramulla highway on Saturday morning after vehicle could not ply on the road near Pattan area due to slippery conditions.
Witnesses said that hundreds of vehicles including passenger buses, trucks and other private vehicles were stranded on the Srinagar Baramulla highway on Saturday morning after vehicles could not cross a patch of road near the Rengi Pattan due to slipper condition. They said the passengers were seen pushing the vehicles for hours.
Later teams of administration including SDM Pattan Syeed Faheem and SHO Pattan Nisar Ahmad along with other officials reached the spot and restore the traffic after lot of struggle. They clear the road after hours long struggle and allowed traffic movement on this busy highway.
From past two days with minimum temperature plunging to minus side roads and paths have become slippery, due to which the vehicles could not run on the road normally, the pedestrian mostly children who are visiting other places for tuition classes are also facing hardships. The appealed the government to clear the roads so that traffic can move normally on the roads.
