SRINAGAR: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) commissioner Gazanfer Ali Saturday directed officials to ensure swift removal of snow and garbage from the city.
Ali said as the weather improved men and machinery were put into service and cleared 145 tons of waste and dumped at the landfill site at Achan today.
He directed officials to attend to people’s needs.
Meanwhile, SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu and Deputy Mayor Parvez Ahmed Qadri toured the city today and took stock of the efforts being made by the SMC staff on the ground.
Mayor Mattu visited Nowshera, Safakadal, Alamgari Bazaar, Lal Bazaar areas. He interacted with the locals and assured them prompt clearance of snow.
He directed the local officials including ward officers to attend to the requirement of locals and speed up snow clearance to ensure no civilians suffer any inconvenience.
Deputy mayor also visited Zaina Kadal, Khanyar, Dal and Rainawari areas. He talked to people and sought feedback of people on snow clearance with the assurance of every possible help.
