Pulwama: Acting tough against delinquent and erring business establishments on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and Director Food, Civil, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Kashmir, the market checking squads of FCS&CA Pulwama today carried out an extensive market checking drive throughout the length and breadth of the district which resulted in lodging of FIRs against three erring butchers/mutton dealers for selling the meat at exorbitant rates than prescribed by the government. Besides this, a large amount of fine was also realized from errant traders.
Assistant Director FCS&CA Pulwama said no one will be allowed to resort to overcharging, black marketing, profiteering, especially during these inclement weather conditions . He further said that the department has so far lodged more than a dozen FIRs , especially against erring butchers in the district, in past few months and market checking drive against defaulters will continue in coming days intensively . He, however, appealed to the general public to cooperate with the department and come forward wherever any instance of wrongdoing is found, officials told Kashmir Reader.
People in the district have hailed this move by the department and expected this to continue in coming days as well.
