CASO in Shopian town, door-to-door searches

Shopian: Amid waist-high snow and bone-chilling cold, government forces arrived in Shopian main town on Thursday morning to carry out a cordon and search operation (CASO) in two localities.
According to locals of Pir Mohala and Gadda Mohala, door-to-door searches were carried out by the joint team of forces.
A police source said that the search operation was carried out by 44 Rashtriya Rifles of army, Jammu and Kashmir police, and 14th battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after inputs about the presence of militants was received by government forces.
Locals told Kashmir Reader that the search operation started at around 7 in the morning and was concluded at about 12 noon, with no trace of militants found in the area.
