Students of SKIMS Medical College Bemina hold protest, demand resumption of clinical classes

Srinagar: The PostGraduate and underGraduate students from the SKIMS Medical College Bemina on Saturday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar against the college authorities for putting clinical classes on hold demanding resumption of OPD/IPD and Clinical classes.
Scores of the Students from the SKIMS medical college Bemina include Boys and Girls assembled here in press enclave and holding placards and banners in their hands which reads ” teaching institute shot for 9 months this is unimaginable”, ” 9 months of academic loss”, ” career of future doctors at stake”, ” post Graduate training affected since 9 months”, and ” we want justice,”.
The protesting students said that after the hospital has been turned into the covid hospital, they have not attend the clinical classes from the last 9 months in the college.
One of the protesting students from the SKIMS Medical college Bemina said that after the Hospital has been converted into the Covid centre the clinical classes have remained shut from the last 9 months , however OPD and IPD have also remained affected in the hospital.
” The other hospitals like SKIMS Soura, JLNM Rainawari and SMHS hospital are functioning normally for both Covid patients as well non Covid patients. It is unfortunate that only SKIMS Bemina is a hospital which is functional for Covid patients only,” He said.
He said that if we do not the patients will suffer for the betterment of the people, we are demanding the hospital authorities to resume OPDas well as IPD in the hospital.
The protesting students said that they have approached concerned officials several times, But unfortunately nothing have been done upon the ground levels.
