Ganderbal: Legal Awareness Programmes on “Maintenance & welfare of parents and senior citizen Act” were organized by District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal at Anderwan and Gund villages of District Ganderbal.
In a statement issued by DSLA said that the function was presided over by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal Ms.Tabassum Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal Ms.Tabassum District Manager Common Service Centre Akhter, Panel Lawyers, PLVs and Senior Citizens attended the programme.
Mostly sarpanches and panches of the adjoining localities participated in the said awareness programmes. Near about 300 senior citizens of the locality were present there. Light refreshment was served among the General public.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary District Legal Services
Authority Ganderbal Ms.Tabassum and Panel Lawyers educated the Senior Citizens as well as General Public about Maintenance & welfare of parents and senior citizen Act and other Schemes available for Senior Citizens in different Govt Departments.
District Manager CSC Mr. Akhter also spoke on the occasion who educated the Senior Citizens about Ayushman Bharat SEHAT Scheme and near about 72 Senior citizens were registered/enrolled on spot under the said scheme.
General Public from the village Anderwan and Gund area highly applauded this move of DLSA Ganderbal and pinned hope that such awareness programmes would continue in future.
