Teachers demand justice for their deceased colleague in Baramulla

Baramulla: Large number of teachers under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRTTF) on Thursday staged a strong protest in the premises of mini-secretariat Baramulla demanding regularization order and release of pending salary in favour of a Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teacher Mohammad Muneer of Zone Boniyar who passed away due to cancer few days ago.
Earlier, protesting teachers assembled in Kiryapa Park Baramulla and then marched to mini secretariat holding banners and placards and staged a protest in front of office of the chief education officer (CEO) Baramulla.
Protesters raised slogans against the concerned authorities for not issuing the regular orders and not releasing previous wages in favour of the deceased teacher who passed away due to cancer.
Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat district president Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers forum (JKRTTF) said said that the file of the deceased teacher Mohammad Muneer has been lying on the table of OSD director school education but those at the helm of affairs hardly bother about the plight of teachers and their families, now we want to justice in favour of the kin of deceased teacher.
He added that Muneer had joined the department as Educational Volunteer (EV) in 2005. He gave his precious years of life to the education department and remained punctual to his duties with a minimum salary of Rs 1000. Later, the government converted all EVs as ReTs and Muneer got converted in 2013. Now his regularization was due in 2018 as RRT but the file is facing red-tapism and eats dust in DSEK and his salary is withheld from last one year.
Another protestor who is also zonal president Boniyar Shahnawaz Ahmad said that, ‘We want his salary and other arrears should be release immediately as his family is facing lot of financial problems.
The JKRTTF has demanded immediate intervention of the concern officers to speed up the process of regularization and issue the regularization order in favour the deceased teacher so that his family gets benefitted under SRO 43.
