BUDGAM, Dec, 20: A one day cultural event was held by Shehjaar Cultural Forum (SCF) here in Poshker village in central Kashmir Budgam district on Sunday.
The event was presided over by poet Dr Ghulam Mohammad Shadab president Shehjaar Cultural Forum, while more than a dozen poets of the area attended the event.
During its presidential speech in the first session Shadab impressed upon the need to preserve the linguistic culture of Kashmir valley. Besides, he said that the event is the first of its kind after the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in the valley.
Besides Shadab, the event was attended by Manzoor Ahmad Ather, Gh Nabi Parwaz, Dr Gh Mohiuddin Dar, Ghulam Mohamammad Dar Masroor, Shameema Akther Akther, Ashiq Mohammad Parray, Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz, Malik Mehraj-ud-Din Kandoori, Ghulam Ahmad Muztar, Ghulam Nabi Reshi and many other senior poets.
In the second session the poets who have come from different places of Budgam recited their poems.
The event concluded at around 3:30 pm.
