DDC Polls: 11% polling registered in Pampore block

Pampore: The District Development Council (DDC) constituency of Pampore block in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district registered 11.31 percent polling on Saturday for the eight and last phase of polling.
The voting in the area remained peaceful as no untoward incident was recorded.
Officials revealed that for Pampore block 2619 votes were polled out of total 23157 registered voters.
Around 50 polling stations were established at 20 different locations for the Pampore block.
Konibal village saw the highest voter turnout where 37.66% was recorded.
Many elderly voters were seen ferried to polling booths in vehicles.
The villagers here told Kashmir Reader that they voted for development of their area.
“We face many problems in our area which can be addressed by our candidate,” said a young girl Gulzara Akhtar, a first time voter of Konibal village of Pampore.
Police had made tight security arrangements for the smooth polling.
Four candidates are in fray for Pampore block including one each from PDP, BJP, NC and one Independent.
