Pampore: The Aripal block of Tral sub division in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday registered 14.24 poll percentage for third phase of the ongoing eight-phased District Development Council (DDC) elections, which will decide the fate of nine candidates who are contesting the elections from the Aripal block.
The voting in the block remained peaceful.
Officials informed Kashmir no untoward incident was recorded during the polling.
They added that 3621 voters exercised their franchise out of total registered 25429 votes.
“61 polling stations were established at 29 locations for Aripal block,” the officials said, adding that 2339 votes were casted by men while 1428 votes were casted by women.
Gutroo, Narastan, Monghama villages recorded the highest number of votes.
The candidates include one each from PDP, BJP, Congress, Apni Party and 5 Independents.
Local residents from the Aripal block told that they casted their votes for seeking development in their area.
“Vote is our right and we casted it for development as we face many problems viz a viz roads, electricity and drinking water,” they said.
