12 more die of Covid in J&K

Srinagar: Twelve more persons infected with Covid-19 died on Friday, taking the total number of deaths related to the pandemic to 1,730 in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, four deaths were reported in Kashmir and eight in Jammu division. The deceased persons include two from Srinagar, one each from Budgam, Kupwara and five from Jammu and two from Ramban and one from Doda.
The total number of infected persons detected in J&K has reached 1,12,256 with 544 fresh cases reported on Friday evening.
Of the 1,739 deaths reported in Jammu and Kashmir so far, 1,119 have been in Kashmir division and 6011 in Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 425 deaths has the highest fatalities, so far, followed by Baramulla (163), Budgam (102), Pulwama (86), Kupwara(85) Anantnag (79) Kulgam (51), Bandipora (52), Shopian (37), and the lowest in Ganderbal (39).
In Jammu division, Jammu district with 312 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Rajouri (50), Doda (57), Kathua (39), Samba (32), Udhampur (51), Poonch (22), Ramban (20), Kishtwar (19) and the lowest in Reasi (9).
Among the new cases, 256 were reported from Kashmir and 279 from Jammu division.
As per officials, Srinagar reported single-day cases at 118, Baramulla 29, Budgam 37, Ganderbal 16, Bandipora 11, Anantnag 12, Pulwama 15, Kupwara 10, 6 in Shopian and Kulgam reported 2 .
In Jammu division, Jammu district reported single-day cases at 109, followed by Udhampur 51, Poonch 3, Samba 23, Doda 15, Ramban 20, Kathua 13, Rajouri 24 and Kishtwar 27.
Officials said that 647 infected patients recovered and were discharged from hospital during the past 24 hours, including 267 from Kashmir and 380 from Jammu division. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 105,537 which include 63,051 from Kashmir and 42,486 from Jammu division.
The officials added that J&K currently has 4,989 active cases, of which 2,624 are from Kashmir and 2,365 are from Jammu.
