JK Premiere League kick started at B’pora

BANDIPORA: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipor a, Zahoor Ahmad Mir today Kick Started J&K Premiere League at SK Sports Stadium Bandipora.
The 15 days long tournament is being organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Council in collaboration with the district administration. During this league several sports events viz. Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Hockey shall be organised and top performing teams in each event shall be selected to play at JK level.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC said that the youth of Bandipora have tremendous sports potential in them and they have proved it time and again. He said that the youth should engage themselves in various sports activities so that their mental and physical strength is enhanced.
The ADC said that the district administration is committed to provide every sort of support to uplift the sports infrastructure in the district. He underlined the need to enthuse and popularize the sports activities at different levels so that more and more youth are involved in these activities.
A total of 6 football teams, 6 volleyball teams, 6 Kabaddi teams and 4 hockey teams are participating in the league.
General Manager SK Stadium Satinder Jeet Singh, Major Rohit Nair of 14 Rashtriya Rifles, members of J&K Football Association besides sports lovers from across the district were present on the occasion.
