Director Agriculture attains superannuation, saffron growers association organise farewell

Pampore: All Saffron growers association organised a farewell party at saffron town for Syed Aijaz Andrabi who attained superannuation from the post of Director Agriculture Kashmir on 30th November.
A function was organised in this regard at India International Kashmir Trade Centre at Dusso Pampore in Pulwama district.
The farmers expressed their gratitude for the retiring Director “Agriculture Kashmir.
He has done a great service to farmers during his tenure as Director Agriculture Kashmir, ” Abdul Majeed Wani, President All Saffron growers association told Kashmir Reader.
The farmers recalled Andrabi as a farmer’s Director loved and respected by all and sundry.
He added that he played an immense part in completing national saffron mission in Kashmir, building IIKTC Dusoo Pampore , getting global identification tag for saffron and started online trading of saffron.
“During the past five years as Director Agriculture Kashmir he was accessible to farmers and he would attend our phone calls at priority,” Wani told.
He also informed them that they had already appealed to the government for giving extension to him for revival of saffron in Kashmir.
Ex-Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi thanked the saffron growers association and farmers for acknowledging his work.
“During my 36 years of service I was posted at different positions and I always looked to render some good to the farming community,” he said.
