RAMBAN: A total 27 candidates are in fray here for 3 District Development Council Constituencies, which are going to polls in the first phase of the DDC elections and Panchayat by-polls.
The voting for the first phase of DDC election would be held tomorrow in three constituencies of Block Ramsoo and Khari including Khari, Ramsoo-A and Ramsoo-B.
According to the concerned Returning Officers (RO) a total 36521 voters including 16981 female voters would exercise their right to franchise to decide the fate of 27 candidates, including 4 in Khari, 15 in Ramsoo-A and 8 in Ramsoo-B.
The Khari constituency has 13203 voters including 6096 females, while Ramsoo-A has 11874 voters including 5612 females and Ramsoo-B has 11444 voters including 5273 females.
Total 94 polling stations have been established in all three election going DDC constituencies including 33 polling stations in Khari, 30 in Ramsoo-A and 31 in Ramsoo-B.
The polling hours will be from 7 am to 2 pm. The results of Panchayat bye-elections will be declared on the polling day itself.
Foolproof security arrangements have also been put in place to ensure free and fair election besides avoiding any untoward or disturbance during the election process.
Meanwhile, 94 polling parties have been dispatched to their respective polling stations along with security forces to conduct free and fair 1st phase District Development Council (DDC) elections in the district.
