Covid 19: Flying quads constituted in Baramulla to check SOP adherence

BARAMULLA: The district magistrate (DM) Baramulla passed order on Tuesday for the constitution of which two flying quads to implement the SOP’s for Covid 19 on ground.
The order reads that, in order to implement the SOP’s and guidelines related to Covid 19 and to enhance testing in district Baramulla the special flying quads are constituted to enhance strict compliance of SOP’s with regard to covid 19 in district Baramulla.
Team A will ensure the implementation of SOP’s at bus, sumo, auto, minibus stands in district Baramulla and team B will take charge of all shops, markets and other business establishments in the district Baramulla.
Earlier, by the orders of district administration Baramulla, the department of health held a Rapid Antigen Testing (RAP) in main market Sheeri on Tuesday.
Officials said that, after the increase in the Covid 19 cases, the district administration Baramulla had announced that Rapid Antigen Testing will be held in the overall district to curb the virus among more people. In this connection a drive under the overall supervision of block medical officer (BMO) Sheeri Dr Sheikh Farooq Ahmad was also held in main market Sheeri on Tuesday. All the shopkeepers, transporters, roadside vendors and other travellers were tested while people were asked to wear the face cover masks and use hand sanitizers.
The tests were held by a senior doctor of the block Dr Tariq Ahmad and other officials of the block Sheeri.
On Monday a Rapid Antigen Testing drive was held at main market Baramulla where hundreds of people including traders and transporters, officials working at different departments were tested. While people were mandated to wear face masks otherwise they will face strict action from the government side. Teams of police and officials of several departments were put into the service during the drive. Aaa large number of people including traders and travellers were also fined during the drive.
The administration took these steps after an increase rate in the Covid 19 cases in the district, in which several more people died while a large number of people has been infected with the deadly Coronavirus. The deputy commissioner Baramulla Dr Ghulam Nabi Itoo had already announced that such drives will be held in all the district markets and people who are not wearing face masks will be fined on the spot and licences of traders and drivers will be cancelled if found against the protocol already issued by the health department and government.
